Mark Roberts' story
I have been on 3 separate week long mission trips to Nicaragua through my church (Fox River Christian Church in Waukesha). My daughter has served in Nicaragua for parts of 3 years now as a short-term missionary. She has great desire to be there full time. Every member of my immediate family has been to Nicaragua to be a part of mission teams. Need I say more about my connection and love for the people of this country?
We are blessed to now have great friends as well as brothers and sisters in Jesus in Nicaragua. With each return trip, it never ceases to amaze me to see God’s hand at work and what He has caused to happen. There are such wonderful and gracious people in Nicaragua. They continue to see people have life change through the Holy Spirit being active in their lives.
We all know how valuable sports are to attracting our kids here in the States; it is no different in Nicaragua. The kids there love to play sports and so it is a great way to get them to build relationships with people who love them. Sports is an avenue to sharing the gospel of Jesus with them. I will continue to be a part of things that will help that to happen.
I love motorcycle riding along with my wife Beverly. We have done a long trip almost every year over the last 15 years. We generally ride 250 – 300 miles per day when on a trip.
With Ride Extreme I will ride 1,000 miles in 24 hours. I have always wanted to try to do an Iron Butt ride. This is my opportunity to do this and more!
More than anything I hope this will help to advance the Kingdom in Nicaragua! It is great to be able to ride, something I enjoy very much, and help the people in Nicaragua have something they can enjoy for years to come as well. I thank you in advance for your support!!
